The Hollow Pond
MAHD Productions
Spirited Away
Uses font similar to Japanese kanji. Written in red font. Stands out from the paper like colour of the background. Gives credits to production and crew but not to the cast. Same colour font as the spirits tongue.
Slum dog Millionaire
It starts with the director. The biggest font size is in yellow. Then the Co-Director and the producers are given credit. The colours are similar to the background and blend in with the opening sequence, which gives it an exotic feeling. Each name contrasts the background, as they are different colours.
Toy Story
It starts with Walt Disney. Pixar productions. Then directors. It uses white font. Music follows the producers. Font stands out form the background. Finishes with the people who wrote the story.
Casino Royale
Starts with Daniel Craig and his name. White font contrasts the background.
The order of importance follows: Actors->Directors->Stuntmen->Production->Crew
Names are bigger than the job roles to which draws attention to the people who were involved.
White font suggests that everything is either in black or white and cannot be in-between. White on red blood contrasts it more than black would.
Names are shown in order of importance. Daniel Craig is the first person to be acknowledged which suggests that he is the important person in the film. The font stays the same throughout the opening sequence.
King Kong
The colour of the text is white which makes it stand out from the rest of the opening sequence. The large font casts a shadow on the words, which could foreshadow them finding King Kong, as he has always been there but hiding in the shadows.
Textual Analysis

I analysed the opening sequence text as it gave an insight to the importance of certain things like font size or colour. It also showed who was the most important person involved in the film. For example Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. It helped identify key signifiers that are shown in the opening sequence.
