Iconography Of Thriller Films:
In thriller films, cities are often used as a background setting. They are used because it relates more to the viewers. It makes all the events that happen more believable and it makes it more realistic.
Another icon of thriller films are forests. They are isolated from society and often contain some sort of antagonist who happens to be a murderer. The viewer unconsciously expects that to happen.
The colour red is also a recognisible icon of the thriller genre as it is often used to represent blood and death.Weapons such as knives may also be associated with this and are often used in Thrillers to show that someone is about to die.

By incorparating iconography into our two m inute opening, we can establish the genre as a thriller and help create the eerie atmosphere we aim to achieve in the scene.
