Angels & Demons: Font Analysis
In the “Angels & Demons” movie poster, the poster uses a font similar to ‘Times New Roman’ and ‘Arial’ in the poster’s movie title, slogan, actor name and release date. The font also has differnt sizes and colours to convey the importance of some of the texts.
The movie poster’s title font doesn’t use a ‘distinctive’ type of font like other film posters like ‘Finding Nemo’ or ‘Shrek’ to attract younger audiences, instead the film poster uses ‘Times New Roman’, a type of text that some younger children may see as ‘boring’ and ‘plain’, this may connote that the film isn’t meant to be appealling to children and may be unsuitable for them. This may also lead to the idea that the poster and the film is designed for adults. The film poster uses the title font to suggest that the film may be unsuitable for young children and that the film is for adults.
In the title of the film poster , the “Demons” part of the text is significantly larger and bolder than the “Angels” part of the text. This may imply that the film will emphasise on the theme or idea of “Demons” rather than concept of “Angels” , this may suggest that the film will focus more on a sinister, evil and malevolant topic. The font type in the movie poster’s title depicts that the film will focus more on the sinister theme rather than the holy and angelic topic. This may also imply that the film can be a thriller or horror genre.

Psycho: Font Analysis
In the “Psycho” film poster, the poster uses font similar to ‘cracked’ in the film’s title, however the cast’s first names are a font similar to ‘ariel’ and the surname of cast members are in a font similar to ‘ariel narrow’.
The font the poster-designer used for the film title is significantly bigger and bolder than the other fonts to make the title stand out more than the other texts in the film poster, the distinctive rip or crack in the title might also convey that the film may be a thriller or horror film, as this type of font isn't often used in films for younger children which may also suggest the film isn't suitable or appealling for younger children or viewers.
The bold title font stands out in the poster so the main focus is on the title, this depicts that the film will focus and emphasise on the "Psycho".
Fight Club: Font Analysis
Fight Club focuses on the story of an insomniac "everyman" (Edward Norton) whose life changes when his apartment is blown up and he befriends soap maker Tyler (Brad Pitt). Together the two form a fight club that begins to become the driving force behind a violent rebellion/revolution.
The font used for the title of the film poster is similar to a font called Fight This which was created by Apostrophe in 1999 and joins the letters with the "Club" in the title being slightly bigger and more emphasised than the "Fight" in the title, perhaps emphasising the importance of the sense of community that the club brings rather than the fight element of it "although this is still important."

I researched font analysis, as font types used in films and film posters often suggest what the film may be about or what the topic or theme the film may be based on. My font analysis was crucial research as font type also conveys whether or not the film is suitable for children too.
